Red Wine (film, in development)
Malik (42), his father is Turkish and his mother Kurdish, is a successful war photographer and does not fear death. He has photographed many people who died shortly afterwards. With his photographs he wants to achieve something, change the world. But then, after a traumatic experience where he is severely wounded, Malik begins to question everything he thought he knew about life. He turns to alcohol and drugs and drifts away from the people he loves.
Shortly afterwards he receives a call: His father was killed in an attack on a Turkish supermarket in Cologne. Malik´s brother Fatih, whom he is estranged from, has the body shipped to Turkey for a religious burial. Malik travels to Turkey to say goodbye to his father, with whom he got into a fight all those years ago. Seemingly insurmountable conflicts between the two brothers now resurface and Malik, after a dramatic incident, finds himself in a state between life and death. A journey begins into his unconscious where Malik has to face his demons and his broken relationships. So now he needs to decide: Does he want to live or die, breathe or drown, love or hate?
